Water Color Classes

Thursday, January 8 - February 19(no class 1/29)
7:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Have fun learning the four basic techniques of watercolor as well as exploring other 
techniques in a textural study.  Learn some color theory to apply to a final composition 
with subject matter that is meaningful to you.  This class is taught by Jamie Rubenacker, 
Art teacher for 13+ years with all ages.  She holds a Bachelors in Art Education 
from the University of Cincinnati and a Masters in Classroom Teaching with a 
concentration in Fine Arts from the University of Rio Grande. Kids must be 
accompanied by an adult.

Mike Cann teaches in the Milford School District and is a graduate from Miami University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. He received his Master's Degree from the University of Cincinnati in administration with focus of

Microsoft Word (Beginning)

Wednesday, October 22 - November 12 or January 28 - February 18; 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.; 
Pattison Elementary Computer Lab; $75; Instructor Mike Cann

Microsoft Word for Beginners provides information and hands-on practice about the many functions of Microsoft Word including document formatting, mail merge, clip art, office templates and many more. Some basic experience with a word processor or Microsoft Word is preferred. The class will be taught using Microsoft Word 2003; however, the skills will easily transfer to the 2007 version.


Introduction to Ebay

Monday, October. 20-Nov. 10 or Wednesday, February 25 - March 18; 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.; 
Pattison Elementary Computer Lab; $75; Instructor Mike Cann

Introduction to EBay course provides instruction on how to search for the items you want, how to post your items for sale and how to buy the items you want. The majority of the class will focus on selling items. The instructor will take you step by step through the process of registering for Ebay, taking pictures, listing an item and shipping to buyers. Every participant will list at least one item for sale.

 

 

Microsoft Word (Intermediate)

Intermediate Word will focus on the more advanced features of Microsoft Word including mail merge, templates, inserting non-text objects, document formatting, and formulas. A basic word course or a strong foundation of word is a prerequisite for this course. The class will be taught using Microsoft Word 2003; however, the skills will easily transfer to the 2007 version

 

Jane Sheehan has been teaching computer classes for the last six years at Great American Insurance, Gateway Community College and various adult programs.

 

 

Introduction to Computers

This class is a basic computer class teaching the components of a computer including the operating system, mouse functions, keyboard, software, Internet, and email.


Introduction to Powerpoint

PowerPoint offers a simple way to create effective presentations. This course provides instruction for creating and designing presentations.


Excel (Introduction)

Excel Introductory course provides instructions for creating simple worksheets and charts that are used for internal reports
and data tracking. Excel is used to organize, calculate, and analyze data.


Excel (Advanced)

Tuesday, February 24 - March 24; (no class 3/17) 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.; Mulberry Elementary Computer Lab;
$75; Instructor Jane Sheehan

The Excel Advanced course provides instruction for utilizing the vast array of functions available, manipulating and managing large amounts of data, creating elaborate reports and charts, creating, running and editing macros. Excel includes many features that can be utilized to perform tasks from preparing a simple invoice to creating elaborate 3-D charts and managing an accounting ledger.

6101 Meijer Drive unless otherwise noted.

Billards Club

Every Monday; 8:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. 
Rack'em and crack'em!  Experienced and novice billiard players wanted for a billiards club just being organized.  
Billiard sticks are provided but you may bring your own.  This group meets every Monday morning unless 
otherwise stated on the calendar.  

Yoga Lite Classes

Mondays; 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.; (6 week session);
Instructors teach the importance of stretching and relaxation through yoga.  Helping you get in shape 
and stay active and what these classes are all about.  Please bring your own mat.  Yoga Lite...no matter 
what your physical condition, age, abilities, or disabilities, yoga uses what you have, recognizes what 
you are, and makes you better!  Chair yoga helps the three most common health problems facing seniors 
today:  arthritis, hypertension and osteoporosis.  Yoga also improves balance, posture, range of motion, 
strength and reduces stress.


Euchre Club

Chair Volleyball

Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.; FREE
This light hearted version of volleyball is a fun experience you won't want to miss.  You'll see the 
game of volleyball from a different angle-the challenge is to stay seated in your chair.  The game is played
 with a beach ball.  It's active, but gentle.


Stepping out with Intermediate Line Dancing

These classes give you a chance to experience why line dancing is so popular
and good for you.  Martha Danforth (former square dancer with the Midwestern Hayride)
teaches this class and makes it fun.

Learn creative drawing through various mediums.  This 10 week class is conducted by a 
local artist.  Cost does not include supplies.  However, supplies are available through the 
instructor at a discounted price.

Oktoberfest with Jack Frost Performing

Tuesday, October 28; 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
"Roll out the barrel", of root beer, that is!  It's Octoberfest time at the Clermont Senior Lifelong
Learning Centers.  Start the day with games and prizes, then join the group in that crazy chicken
dance, followed by a German feast of sauerkraut, metts, bratwurst, mashed potatoes, applesauce 
and desserts.  After lunch, Sally Lukasik performs a variety of German music for your entertainment.  

Cincinnati Eye Institute Screenings and Lecture

Never take your eyes for granted.  The Cincinnati Eye Institute presents information about important
eye issues such as cataracts, glaucoma and macular degeneration.  They will follow up with vision

Basket Weaving Class

Thursday, December 18; 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.; Snowman Basket
Learn what archeologists believe to be one of the first crafts learned by humans.....
basket weaving.  Instructor, Mary Davison, will teach the basic techniques of weaving.
Each participant makes their own basket to take home.  A light lunch is provided.

Card Stamping Classes
