Miami Township is looking to extend its recycling services to residents through the development of more free neighborhood drop-off centers. The township is investigating additional recycling bins placed in more areas around the townshp. Currently, the township has recycling stations at:
• The Miami Township Civic Center
• Miami Meadows Park
• Miami Township Fire & EMS station on Branch Hill-Guinea Pike.
The township explored the possibility of forming a township-wide waste district, but there was not enough of a cost savings to residents to place a levy on the ballot to create the district.
"We wish we could have saved residents money, but we did hear that more free recycling stations were needed," said Trustee Chairperson Mary Makley Wolff.
