Police need helping finding suspect in credit card theft

Card stolen from Live Oaks

The Miami Township Police Department is searching for a man who stole a high school student’s credit card and used it at a bank automated teller machine to withdraw cash on May 23.

The man stole the student’s purse from her unlocked car and used the credit card and the personal identification number (PIN) to withdraw cash from the ATM at a bank on Ohio 28 a few minutes later.

“Fortunately, we have some clear photos from the ATM machine that we hope someone might recognize the person we believe stole the purse,” said Detective Bill Paul of the Miami Township Police.

The suspect is seen in the photograph wearing a hat with the name of an excavating company on it. Detective Paul hopes someone will recognize the hat or the suspect and call Miami Township Police, Detective William Paul at 965-6875, or Crimestoppers at 352-3040.
